Michaela Ashaneya Baumgartner

“The only way to let go of grief is to lean in. You can’t control what happens in life, but you can control what you choose to do with it. Lean in to where you’re afraid to go. If you’ve ever tried to ride a motorcycle in a curve, you know that at first you’re afraid to go with the gravity forces. But the only way you can make it through the curve and come out of it intact is to lean in. It’s a physical law. And the same law applies to our biggest life challenges. If you lean in and allow life to initiate you, you love and live more fully than you could possibly imagine.”

It all started when…

I lost my nineteen year-old brother in a tragic car accident. The greatest heartbreak and peak of a series of losses, it also became the turning point of my life path. Within a year and a half, no stone had been left unturned when my nine-year, intimate relationship broke up and a heart disease left me three months incapacitated. I quit my journalist career and left my Austrian homelands to move to Canada where I lost my belongings in a van fire followed by my only sibling dying.

This loss upon loss was shocking and devastating, but eventually it unearthed my true calling to becoming a healer and assist others through their most difficult times of change. We have to remember that change, even the one we feel is unbearable, still holds a potential of dreams undreamt and trails untouched.
